LOIS ROSIO SPRAGUE
Lois is a native of glen ellyn, Illinois. She studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, under the direction of Irving Shapiro. There she received two degrees, one in Fine Art, the other in Graphic Art.
Relocating to the mountains of Colorado, Lois’s work includes large scale figurative subjects and murals. She has gained a reputation for her depiction of people from all walks of life, cultures and ages. her warm, sensitive approach and bold, colorful style are increasingly sought after..
Lois has been highlighted in numerous exhibits and galleries, and has been showcased at national conventions performing live art. her diverse talents include children's book illustration, commissioned portraits, Themed figurative shows and murals. One of which is the woodland park historical mural, which took four months to complete, and measures 145 feet in length.
Lois has a deep attachment to the outdoors. She is most passionate about painting people. SHE is a committed Christian and strives to share the glory and grace of God in her work. Lois and her husband Gary have five grown children, which give her many reasons for capturing genuine human emotion through her paintings.
